Kunun Tamba (Finger Millet Porridge)

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup tamba (finger millet)
  • Ginger
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Method

  1. Wash the tamba and dry with a clean cloth.
  2. Mix tamba with ginger. Grind the mixture until smooth.
  3. Allow the ground mixture to cool down, then sieve the chaff to give a fine texture.
  4. Boil water in a pot and add the tamba powder gradually, stirring gently to make a smooth mixture.
  5. Add milk and sugar, then whisk until smooth and lump-free.

Notes

  • Finger millet porridge is usually prepared for babies as a weaning food. It is also eaten as breakfast in some regions.
  • Dilute with water to get a thinner porridge
