Self-rising Flour

Self-rising flour (sometimes called self-raising flour) is all-purpose flour that has a leavening agent such as baking soda or baking powder already blended in. Self-rising flour is not typically used by professional bakers, but it can be useful in the home and is often sold in supermarkets.

Method

  1. Mix all ingredients to combine.
  2. Store in an air-tight container in a cool, dry environment.

Notes

  • If you are substituting self-rising flour for all-purpose flour in a recipe, be sure to reduce the salt in the recipe since the self-rising blend already contains it.
